  SEWIP, which was initiated in , provides regular refreshes for the AN/SLQ electronic warfare system, which has been around since the s. The refreshes come in blocks, all of which have sub-designations, depending on their capabilities.   Raytheon has developed a prototype IR sensor capability as an adjunct to the AN/SLQ(V) family of shipboard EW.
